Marie-Christine Camus
SEMBLANCE
Visual artist, researcher and professor. Born in France and currently residing in Mexico City. She studied film at the University Center for Film Studies (CUEC-UNAM, Mexico) and has a master's degree in Communication Studies from the University of Paris XIII as well as a Master of Arts from the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos/ (UAEM). She has worked as a cinematographer and photography director in film productions, venturing in the visual arts field since 2001. Having to live abroad and away from her home country has led her to question history from a distanced gaze. Her formation as a filmmaker oriented her production work towards a work of reflection on imagery. She found a place to explore the memory and image through archival materials, an interest reflected in her production style and research.
She has participated in national and international exhibitions and festivals. In 2008, she was granted the Step Beyond scholarship from the European Cultural Foundation (http://www.eurocult.org) Mobility Fund. She was a grant holder of the National Art Education Program with the project: teaching materials design for educational purposes in Video Art in Mexico ("Education through Art 2003" Scholarship).

Since 2005 she is Researcher at the National Research, Documentation and Information Center for fine arts (CENIDIAP-INBA).
She works as an Academic in the project Transdisciplinary Transits, research, experimentation and artistic production Diploma as well as in the Seminar of Problematic Topics of Contemporary Culture both organized by the Directorate for Academic Development of Cenart. She was Professor at the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving La Esmeralda (ENPEG-INBA) between 1999 and 2012.
